Art Final

5th Period, Art I

Art class this year has been fun. It has allowed me to learn more about former artists and about different styles of art that were invented over time. Prior to this year I was not aware that even the weirdest forms of art were incredibly intriguing to me. I had never learned so much information about how artists were inspired by the craziest thoughts, which later became some of the world’s most famous art styles, including abstract paintings by Picasso.

The three projects I picked were the piñata, the frottage and the collage. In the piñata we were told to pick a character or shape to create, then all we needed to do was create a frame piece and begin gluing and decorating it with final touches. The collage was to be made with pictures from magazines that were provided to use and in the end we had a surreal image of weirdness, which was radical. The frottage was made outside where we used ebony pencils to rub its lead on any objects that would be seen on our papers.

The piñata and frottage were alike, because they both gave us the freedom to make the project out of elements of our choice, not anything that we are expected to use. The frottage and collage were alike, because in the end when the project was finished, you were left with a weird and somewhat SURREAL image, which is an image that seems to be abnormal and out-of-the-ordinary. All three projects were identical in the sense that they allowed us to exceed expectations when it came to the creativity needed to have a well-done finished product, which gave the freedom to our minds to roam free with thousands of potential ideas.

These three projects might have had some similarities, but they definitely were different. The piñata and collage & frottage were different, because the components in the piñata were unalike to those of the collage and frottage. In the piñata we were only expected to use one character/shape, whereas in the collage & frottage we were told to incorporate multiple images or objects. The collage and frottage were different, because in of the basic structure of them.. In the collage we were told to select pictures out of a magazine, while for the frottage we went outside to pick what we wanted to trace by rubbing an ebony pencil over the object, not using images that someone else had created.

Overall this year of art has blown me away. Before this year I wasn't aware of many of these fascinating styles of art that had such a amazing meaning and story behind them. These three projects were probably my favorite from this semester due to how much creativity and colors seemed to be involved, which later led to a great surreal and further abnormal image than what was expected. I don't believe I had never felt more like an artist than in this class, due to the fact that I seem to fail at art approximately 98% of the time, but these projects didn't involve actual drawing, which made it that much easier for me. For the first time since taking an art class, I can honestly say: GO ART!

P.E Final

Health related fitness is made up of five different components: flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and body composition.
Flexibility is seen as how far you can move your joints during movement. Your flexibility can increase by increasing the amount of that that you stretch to improve your muscular strength & endurance. Many people lose their flexibility due to injuries, muscles pulls, and lower-back problems.
Cardiovascular endurance is your ability to work without stopping over a long period of time. A person's cardiovascular endurance varies from the amount of blood that your heart can supply to your muscles and organs. Cardiovascular endurance activities can be as easy as walking, dancing or jogging.
Muscular strength is the greatest force that you can give when you contract your muscles. Your muscular strength has many factors, but there is also ways to increase your muscular strength with easy training.
Muscular endurance is one's ability to contract your muscles without becoming extremely tired. This component is important because it can reduce your amount of energy required to do various physical activities. Activities such as push-ups or sit-ups help increase your muscular endurance.
Body composition is the ratio of water, bone and muscle to body fat. This is a very important component because it could hurt your functional health and could increase the chance of getting chronic disease. Having or trying to have a reasonable amount of body fat to keep a good, stable health.
For my health related activity I am going to be playing a simple game of hopscotch. This can and will improve each individual's muscular endurance by being able to to hop on one leg over some period of time without getting a major injury.

Over the summer I plan on playing a lot of my favorite sport, soccer. This will improve my muscular endurance because it requires a lot of energy to run around, but if I continue playing I will have increased my muscular endurance from the beginning of the summer.
